1.2.1. The beginnings of cartography

Certain discoveries found in localities in Moravia - Czech republic (Predmostí, Dolni Vestonice or Pavlov) rank among the oldest discovered artifacts produced by primeval hunters. One of these archaeological finds illustrating abstract thinking in the Paleolithic age dated back to approximately 23 000 BC. It was discovered in a camp of mammoth hunters near Pavlov in 1962.
